High Commission of Maldives hosts reception to celebrate 50th Anniversary of Independence
Islamabad, Pakistan, 05 August 2015;
A special reception was hosted by the High Commission of Maldives in Pakistan to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Independence of Maldives. Federal Minister for states and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Lt Gen (R) Abdul Quadir Baloch, who also represented Pakistan in the official golden jubilee celebration in Male, was the Guest of honour at the reception.
Speaking at the Reception High Commissioner Saleem briefly touched on the history of Maldives independence. During his remarks High Commissioner Saleem also highlighted the close relations that exist between the Maldives and Pakistan. High Commissioner Saleem noted as Maldives celebrates the golden jubilee of independence; Maldives and Pakistan are enjoying 49 years of wonderful bilateral relations based on extremely cordial and friendly relation that respects each others sovereignty and independence.
The Chief Guest of the event, the Federal Minister Baloch during his remarks stated that he was honoured to be part of the celebration of Golden jubilee of independence of Maldives as special envoy of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Federal Minister further noted that Maldives has a rich tradition and culture and further stated that Pakistan and Maldives have a very good and brotherly relation and expects it to grow even further.
The Reception was attended by High Commissioners, Ambassadors, diplomats, senior officials of the Government, members and business community, organizations and media.
